NASCAR Refuel is a ghost kitchen that launched in 2021 but only recently came to the Madison-area, where it is housed inside the IHOP in Middleton.
The menu focuses on chicken tenders and burgers. The former comes in three versions: Talladega (regular), Hot Lap and Full Throttle.
The photo of the Hot Lap tenders ($11.49) online makes it look like the tenders are dripping in sauce, but they’re not in real life. Instead, all the tasty buffalo sauce was absorbed into the breading. Still, the chicken was moist, and the tender had the right amount of breading.
I also enjoyed the Full Throttle tenders ($10.99). They are loaded with caramelized onions but could have used more cheese sauce. In fact, I felt like the onions blocked/absorbed almost all the cheese sauce.
The namesake NASCAR Refuel burger ($9.99) was your run-of-the-mill cheeseburger, but it was well-constructed, and I would order it again. My only critique was that there was so little Track sauce that I couldn’t even taste it.
Meanwhile, the Daytona Firecracker burger ($10.99) was a bit of a mess. This baby is loaded with jalapenos, serrano peppers and some slightly undercooked onions, to make for a pretty spicy and delicious burger. FYI, it could have been spicier, as there were only a few dashes of the chipotle mayonnaise included.
Other menu items include a Checkered Chicken sandwich ($9.99) and onion rings ($5.29).
NASCAR Refuel is available at lunch and dinner every day via DoorDash, GrubHub and Uber Eats.
