Compared to past years, we are seeing fewer and more scaled-down New Year’s Eve celebrations in 2023. I’m wondering if it’s due to the ongoing staffing challenges in hospitality.
In addition, the effect of inflation is prominent, as ticket prices jumped significantly from last year for many events. Here’s a curated list of parties and events happening on New Year’s Eve in and around Madison, WI:
- Concourse Hotel: Dinner, comedy and live music. Accommodation and dining packages range from $299-$759.
- Essen Haus and Come Back In: Three-course dinner plus live music. Tickets are $125.
- High Noon Saloon: Performance by The Jimmys and champagne toast. Tickets are $25-$30.
- Ivory Room: Black and Gold extravaganza with dueling pianos and champagne toast. Tickets are $40.
- Liquid: Two stages, balloon drop and video countdown. Ticket packages are $25-$150.
- Lone Girl Brewing Co.: A bar crawl via bus to J Henry, Red & White and Rock N Wool, with final stop at Lone Girl. Tickets are $100.

Keep in mind that many restaurants are having New Year’s Eve dinner specials, and many bars will have some sort of drink special and/or live music to ring in 2024.
