In time for fall, Leinenkugel’s brought back its seasonal Oktoberfest, and I was happy to accept an offer to try it.
It’s a traditional Märzen-style beer with a toasted malt flavor. I also liked the hint of caramel and slight spice to the Oktoberfest, a perfect beer for its namesake celebration.
In a previous statement, Leinenkugel’s said, “Oktoberfest is an aromatic, smooth beer that enhances the flavors and aromas of the season … a great experience to share with friends during the shorter days and longer evenings of the fall season.”
Each can has 175 calories, with 5.1% ABV. Try pairing the Oktoberfest with brats (or cooking with it), pretzels and pork chops.
You can buy Leinie’s Oktoberfest (about $18 for a 12-pack of bottles) throughout Madison, including at Steve’s, Hy-Vee and Festival Foods, until the end of the month.
