Like last year, many of the local Oktoberfest celebrations changed weekends once again. We also have one new event this year. Here’s a look at the Madison, WI-area Oktoberfest events this month:

Grumpy Troll Oktoberfest | Sept. 22-24, Grumpy Troll | Features live music, activities for kids, food carts and a tapping of the keg. |
Fall Beer Taste | Sept. 23, Downtown Sun Prairie | Enjoy 3-oz. samples of beer and cider from 20 participating businesses in downtown Sun Prairie. |
Hometown Brewdown | Sept. 23, Verona | Formerly held in July, the event includes tailgate games, live music and more than 30 breweries. Benefits Verona youth hockey. |
Capital Brewery Oktoberfest | Sept. 23, Capital Brewery | Features live music, a food truck and a stein-holding competition. |
Oktoberfest at Breese Stevens Field | Sept. 24, Breese Stevens Field | New event this year, with more than 50 beers, live music, magic and two “Kegs of Destiny.” |
