Some new beverages have hit the market, and I accepted an offer to try them.
ANTI
Designed to combat the effects of alcohol, ANTI is a carbonated beverage that can be mixed with spirits or consumed on its own.
ANTI is the first product from Anti Elixir LLC. It contains ginger to help with nausea, electrolytes to counter dehydration, and vitamins to replenish what gets depleted.
The flavor reminds me of Monster Energy. It’s got the right amount of sweetness with no aftertaste. I found that ANTI works well as a mixer with vodka, better than tonic or Red Bull does. You also can mix ANTI with gin, champagne or white rum.
Each 12-oz. can has 150 calories and 40 g. of carbs, plus potassium, Vitamin B6 and Vitamin B12. You can order ANTI ($59.99 for a 12-pack) from Amazon.

BioLift
BioLift is an energy drink that boosts focus, energy and productivity. It is the outcome of a decade of clinical research by InnoBev, an Israeli food-tech company specializing in chronobiology, which is the science of time and its effects on living systems.
Amazingly, BioLift does this with less caffeine than a cup of coffee, instead using guarana extract, which provides mental and physical stimulation. There’s also ginkgo biloba extract (affecting concentration, mood, fatigue and response rates), elderberry extract (anti-viral and antioxidant effects) and carob and apple extract (helps maintain a constant sugar level).
Each 12-oz. can contains 50 calories and 13 g. of carbs and comes in three flavors:
- The sparkling peach mango was my favorite. Each sip reminded me of drinking passion fruit juice.
- The sparkling mandarin orange is fragrant and citrusy and is perfectly sweet.
- The sparkling mixed berry was the mildest of the three in terms of flavor, yet it still was way more flavorful compared to, say, LaCroix.
BioLift ($19.95 for a six-pack) is available for purchase from its website.

CELSIUS
Looking to get a boost for your workout and accelerate your metabolism? CELSIUS is a premium energy drink that has these benefits. It’s made with ingredients such as ginger root (to help support the process of thermogenesis) and chromium (to help enhance the metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates and lipids).
Each can has 200 mg. of caffeine (compared to about 95 mg. in a cup of coffee) and much to my pleasant surprise, only 10 calories and no carbs.
CELSIUS is available in a ton of flavors, including sparkling strawberry guava and sparkling grape rush. I really enjoyed the sparkling oasis vibe flavor (prickly pear lime). It’s zesty with notes of kiwi and green tea–very easy to drink any time of the day.
In Madison, you can purchase CELSIUS at stores such as Pick N Save, Fresh Madison Market and Metcalfe’s.
