Good Co. Pioneer Pointe

Good Co. Pioneer PointeHave you driven west on Mineral Point Road lately? There are so many new developments, including one that is fronted by Good Co. Pioneer Pointe, located where Tumbledown Trails golf course used to be.

I sort of think of Good Co. as an oasis, as it’s the only restaurant and bar in a several-mile radius. Here, you’ll find some tasty items, including the Good Co. Burger ($15). I was doubtful about the house chips on top, but they provided a welcomed crunch. The Good Sauce was not at all spicy as advertised, but I did like that it tasted like Big Mac sauce. My only complaint about this burger was that the patty was small (or the bun was too big), as it was about 80% the size of the bun.

Among the list of pizzas, I tried the Forager ($16 for 10″, $24 for 14″). It’s really loaded with spinach, and the calabrese peppers make this a spicy pizza. I think it would have been better without the Swiss-Sarvecchio parmesan sauce, which didn’t mesh well with the other ingredients.

The burger (from the sandwich menu) and the pizzas are available all day. So are salads and appetizers such as the Local cheese curds ($12). I loved the light, crispy batter, and the bacon aioli adds another layer of awesome flavor.

At lunchtime, Good Co. offers various calzones, including the Wyatt (pepperoni, red onion, mozzarella, aged cheddar) for $15. Meanwhile, the dinner entrees are comprised of five items, including the pappardelle bolognese ($20) and the New York strip ($52).

Good Co. Pioneer PointeMake sure to give the brunch menu a try, starting with the Everything bagel and lox ($17). It’s a soft and crunchy bagel, not overloaded with cream cheese, and topped with very tasty lox. The red onion was cut thin, just the way I like it. I do want to mention that the accompanying potatoes had no seasoning or taste whatsoever.

The huevos motulenos ($17) is worth ordering, too. Each bite had a ton of flavors from the guacamole, pinto beans, diced ham, cotija cheese and eggs. Meanwhile, the Belgian waffle ($14) was good, though it was served a touch on the cold side.

Brunch cocktails include a Bloody Mary ($9) and an espresso martini ($11). I adored the greyhound ($7), which paired nicely with my brunch items.

Good Co. Pioneer Pointe is open for lunch and dinner every day and brunch on Sundays.
