It’s nice to see the occasional non-chain restaurant appear at the food court at West Towne. In this case, I’m referring to Tacos Ady.
The menu consists of tacos, tortas, burritos, quesadillas and even burgers. The tacos ($2.99) are similar to what you would find at most Mexican restaurants and taquerias in town. Each order comes with one taco along with your choice of toppings.
I thought the steak taco was perfect. It comes with a good portion of excellent steak, and the green sauce I added brought a little zip to it. Other meat choices include chicken and chorizo.
The burritos ($11.50) are big and dense. They are made with rice, beans AND corn, as well as your choice of meat, vegetables and salsa. I liked the pastor (pork) for its flavor, but it was a little tough. Make sure to ask for extra salsa on it, otherwise, the burrito will get dry from all the starches.
Several burgers were intriguing, such as the double guacamole burger ($9.99). I settled on the Hawaiian burger ($8.99), which was messy but tasty. This monstrosity has pineapple, ham (I think it was Spam), bacon and two kinds of cheese.
One other dish I tried was the crazy fries ($10.99), which are topped with shredded cheese, nacho cheese and options such as jalapenos, onions, tomatoes and cilantro, plus your choice of meat (try the chorizo). This is a massive serving of fries that will require a fork and perhaps a dining partner or two.
Following mall hours, Tacos Ady is open for lunch and carryout every day and dinner Monday-Saturday.
