Psychedelic Water

Psychedelic WaterA new beverage that’s been fast-rising in popularity is called Psychedelic Water, which proclaims to be the first legal psychedelic brand. I accepted an offer to try it.

The main premise of this non-alcoholic herbal supplement is that it’s made with a “psychedelic complex” of Kava root extract (which helps with relaxation), Damiana leaf extract (which helps relieve stress) and green tea leaf extract (which provides antioxidants).

Each 12 oz. can has 10-25 calories, 14-16 g. of carbs and 474 mg of the aforementioned psychedelic complex. They also are noted to be vegan, kosher and CBD/THC-free.

If you’re sober-curious, Psychedelic Water can be a replacement for hard seltzers. At least, it looks like these people did at their pool party and at an Area 51 party.

Psychedelic Water ($33 for six) comes in Oolong + Orange Blossom, Prickly Pear, Hibiscus + Lime and Blackberry + Yuzu. The prickly pear flavor tastes like a minty cactus and provides a slight tingle. It’s got the right amount of sweetness despite having monk fruit juice concentrate and stevia leaf extract (both are sweeteners). I also liked the light carbonation, which made the drink refreshing.

You also can use Psychedelic Water to make drinks such as a Blackberry No-jito and a Psychedelic Water Disco Punch Mocktail.

Psychedelic Water is available for purchase on its website as well as Amazon.com and Urban Outfitters.
