The Meltdown

The MeltdownBesides The Burger Den (review), Denny’s other ghost kitchen is The Meltdown, which, as the name implies, serves sandwich melts. Man, are they good.

It all starts with the delicious bread. Most of the sandwiches are made with grilled artisan bread, which is soft yet sturdy enough to hold all the ingredients, and it’s a buttery delight.

The brisket burnt ends in the Giddy Up ($14) were super tender and slathered in a somewhat tangy BBQ sauce. This absolutely delicious sandwich is rounded out with sharp white cheddar and pickles.

I also was wowed by the Hot N’ Spicy ($11.50), mainly because of the Nashville chicken. It’s juicy with the perfect amount of breading. The sauce was tasty, although it wasn’t spicy. I ate half the sandwich hot and the other half cold, and I enjoyed it both ways.

The MeltdownI wanted to try one of the breakfast sandwiches–which are available all day–and I opted for the Hittin’ Snooze ($9.50). It’s got everything you would want: sausage, bacon, ham and scrambled eggs on soft potato bread. While this sandwich would be too heavy to eat first thing in the morning, it did make for a nice lunch meal.

Other sandwiches include the Rise N’ Spice, made with chorizo, cheddar cheese, tortilla chips and scrambled eggs; and the Feelin’ Groovy, made with grilled chicken breast, bacon, mushrooms, provolone, spinach and mayo.

The Meltdown is open for breakfast and lunch every day and dinner on most days, depending on the location. It is only available through DoorDash.
