On Monday I was interviewed by Emmy Fink for her show on Madison CW called “Buzzed Into Madison.” For this episode, I took her to a couple of places that Madisonians have probably been to or heard of but didn’t realize all they had to offer.
First stop was Nam’s Noodles. While a great Asian food restaurant, it’s also where you can sing karaoke in private rooms. We got to sample some food on camera, too, despite both of us having just ate lunch and not being hungry. (And although you probably won’t hear the audio on the final segment, we did sing, and Emmy has a great voice!)
Then we went to Smoky’s, a well-known steakhouse in town. Just as impressive is its bar, home to Martini Bob and his 200 martinis. Of course Emmy and I sampled one, though it hit us right away since it was in the middle of the afternoon and we had to go back to work.
Looking forward to this appearing on TV (should be a couple of weeks). One thing that I’d like to mention is how quick and efficient Emmy and her cameraman (Dave) are. They didn’t have to spend much time setting up or over-shooting b-roll. We finished in about one hour.
