Don Pablo Bourbon-Infused Coffee

Don Pablo Bourbon CoffeeNational Coffee Day is on Sept. 29. What better way to celebrate than by having a cup of Don Pablo bourbon-infused coffee, which I accepted an offer to try.

Don Pablo Coffee Growers & Roasters sources specialty-grade beans from the top 2% of the world’s coffee production, primarily from Colombia and Honduras. It slow-roasts its beans in small batches. Other varieties include Costa Rica Tarrazu, Italian espresso and organic dark roast.

The bourbon-infused coffee is definitely not your average cup of joe. When you brew it, the coffee unleashes a powerful aroma that’s part coffee, part oak barrel (really). The coffee beans are soaked in Kentucky bourbon until every last drop is absorbed, but the coffee is nonalcoholic.

What you end up with is a full-bodied coffee that has a bit of spice, nuttiness and butterscotch. I love bourbon, but don’t worry, you are still primarily enjoying the flavor of coffee when you drink this.

A 12-oz. bag of whole beans retails for $19.99. You can purchase Don Pablo bourbon-infused coffee on Amazon.com.
