From time to time, I open a food delivery app and see a restaurant I’ve never heard of. In a recent instance, it was The Burger Den, which turns out is a ghost kitchen for Denny’s.
I appreciated that the menu had a decent variety of burgers, plus you can build your own ($11.38). All good hamburgers start by having good patties, and the ones here are juicy and flavorful.
The Mad for Mozza Burger ($11.29) was interesting, as it’s topped with mozzarella sticks. I didn’t receive the marinara sauce that was supposed to accompany the burger, but it was still tasty. I do have to warn you that this ensemble gets dense as the mozzarella sticks harden, so don’t take too long to eat it.
The Vibe with Shrooms Burger ($11.29), topped with garlic mushrooms, caramelized mushrooms and swiss cheese, was my favorite. It’s delicious and better than comparable versions I’ve had elsewhere.
Want a meatless option? The Rodeo Ring Beyond Burger ($12.79) gets all of its flavors from the red onion, BBQ sauce and tasty onion rings to mask the fairly bland Beyond patty. I didn’t mind the sandwich, but I wouldn’t order it again.
The Burger Den also features a few chicken burgers. The Honey-Tossed Chicken Burger ($10.49) is incredible. The chicken is moist and tender inside and crispy on the outside, with a slight sweetness from the honey. I have to admit, it’s one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve had in a while.
All orders come with fries, but you can upgrade to seasoned fries ($0.89). I recommend that you do because they taste like curly fries (but are not curly).
Of note, Denny’s milkshakes are on the menu, though I didn’t try any.
You can order from The Burger Den using UberEats, DoorDash and Postmates for lunch and dinner.
