If professional mixologists and bartenders are using Snowy River Cocktails‘ large range of products to create eye-catching cocktails, then I want to use the products, too. Hence, I accepted an offer to review some of the company’s line of all-natural cocktail decorating products–namely, cocktail sugar, cocktail glitter and wine glitter.
“It’s a great organic marketing tool for bars, restaurants and caterers to serve Instagram-ready food and drinks,” Snowy River Cocktails Founder Stuart Cutler said in a statement. “The cocktails created with our products make any dinner or event really stand-out. The creative event host can find endless uses for them.”
Right off the bat, you can tell the glitter and sugar will add some visual sparkle to your beverage. They contain no preservatives and are vegan, gluten-free and GMO-free Kosher Certified.
The glitter is meant to be lightly dusted on the top of or stirred in your cocktail. I’ve never added glitter to wine before, but I was amused by my blue-colored Sauvignon blanc, caused by the sapphire glitter I swirled into it (and it did not affect the taste of the wine). Meanwhile, I sprinkled the red cocktail glitter on top of my vodka martini, and the glitter eventually made the drink look like a cosmo.
You can get the cocktail glitter in various sizes, such as 0.2 oz. ($6.95) and 1 oz. ($19.95), and the wine glitter in various sizes, such as 0.2 oz ($8.95) and 2 oz. ($34.95). Other flavors include copper, gold and purple. Beer glitter also is available.
The cocktail sugar is meant to rim your glass. For the red, white and blue Americas flavor, I rimmed a glass of an All-American drink: the Bloody Mary. You know what? I liked the contrast the sweetness of the sugar brings over the typical rim salt. The Americas sugar would be a hit at your next 4th of July party.
The sugar ranges in sizes from a 2-oz. bottle ($4.95) all the way up to a 5-lb. bag ($42.95). Other flavors include chocolate treat, pumpkin pie mix and coconut delight.
Snowy River Cocktails provided me some recipes for coffee-rum Pirates Bounty, an Italian-inspired Chocolate Orange Martini and a rye-based favorite called The Unity, and you can find them here: snowyrivercocktails.com/cocktail-ideas/.
