While Oktoberfest doesn’t take over the entire City of Madison as it does in La Crosse, we do have our fair share of celebrations each September (and October in some years). Here’s a look:

Essen Haus Oktoberfest | Sept. 14, Essen Haus | Includes a brat-eating contest and a bier-drinking competition. |
Anniversary Party | Sept. 14, Octopi Brewing | Family-friendly event with some proceeds going to the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County. |
Dogtoberfest | Sept. 15, Capital Brewery | A fundraiser for the Dane County Humane Society, complete with a dog costume contest. |
VRBC Oktoberfest | Sept. 18, Quivey’s Grove | This event is put on by the Verona Road Business Coalition and features beer from Wisconsin Brewing Co. |
Fall Beer Taste | Sept. 19, Downtown Sun Prairie | Enjoy beer and cider from 29 businesses, plus roaming entertainment, in Sun Prairie. |
Quivey’s Grove Beer Fest | Oct. 5, Quivey’s Grove | Includes live music and more than 100 beers to sample. |
Stalzy’s Oktoberfest | Oct. 5, Stalzy’s Deli | Features tons of live music, magic and German food. |
