I came to the realization that there aren’t many flavored kinds of peanut butter upon accepting an offer to try three varieties from B.Nutty. And after I tried them, I realized flavored peanut butter has been a missing element of my snacking life.
The story behind B.Nutty is that two soccer moms were creating batches of peanut butter for fundraisers when they realized there was a demand for their gourmet peanut butter all year long.
I can see why. The peanut butter uses honey roasted peanuts, which makes it even more delicious than standard peanut butter. The texture is in between crunchy and creamy. Similar to a container of yogurt, the jar of B.Nutty will need to be mixed when you open it, as most of the add-ins are on the bottom.
My thoughts on the three flavors I tried:
- Ever eaten a Raisinet? Instead of a raisin inside milk chocolate, B.Nutty uses a blueberry, and the chocolate-covered blueberries (which are dried) provide a sweet and fruity sensation to the Blissful Blueberry peanut butter. In fact, you may not even need the jelly for a PB&J with this version.
- One bite into the Totally Toffee, and you realize what an enjoyable combination toffee and peanut butter are. (I don’t want to admit how many spoonfuls I ate directly from the jar.) The toffee is the perfect texture: not too soft that it sticks to your teeth, and not too hard that it breaks them, either.
- If you are looking for a more traditional mix, then IrresistibleĀ Pretzel is your best bet. How can you go wrong with peanut butter and pretzel pieces? It also comes with bits of white chocolate, though they didn’t change the flavor profile at all.
Other flavors include S’more Dreams, Pumpkin spice and Coco-Nutty. You can purchase B.Nutty on its website. A 2-oz. jar costs $3, a 12-oz. jar is $8 and a sample pack of 10 flavors costs $25.
B.Nutty peanut butter is gluten-free and has zero trans fat. A 1-oz. serving has 150 calories, 9 g. of carbs and 5 g. of protein.
