Sunday, August 4th, 2019It’s been about a year since A. Smith Bowman Distillery, based in Fredericksburg, Va., launched its new line of spirits called Tinkerman’s Gin ($29.99 retail for 750ml), and I accepted an invitation to enjoy it this summer.
When you’re out on your deck or next to a pool, you may be tempted to have a vodka-based cocktail, beer or hard seltzer. However, I’m convinced now that gin should be part of your beverage lineup.

1792 Aged Twelve Years
Sunday, July 21st, 2019As a big fan of bourbon, I eagerly accepted an offer to try 1792 Aged Twelve Years.
Several years ago, I discovered 1792 at a store while on vacation. (The bourbon is named for the year Kentucky became a state.) It was mispriced at $20 (normally $25.99), so I bought it and ended up enjoying it so much, that I recommended it to friends. (more…)
